Long haul drives may be a bummer to electric vehicle owners, as this may mean that at some point, they need to stop to charge, but that is what this Israeli startup aims to change, with Electreon demonstrating its wireless electric road.

The latest test by the company involved a hybrid Toyota RAV4 Prime which was using its electric mode the whole time, and it is important to note that it was able to drive for 100 hours non-stop. This massive breakthrough is among the first to bring the possibility of wireless charging roads, with the potential to provide power at all times without taking a break or looking for a charging station.

Electreon's Electric Road Made History with 100-Hour Non-Stop Drive

Electreon has set a new world record with its proprietary Wireless Electric Road. This groundbreaking technology allows EVs to charge while driving, eliminating the need for frequent stops or the use of power cables.

The record-breaking achievement involved a hybrid Toyota RAV4 Prime in Electric Mode, which drove for an astounding 100 hours without interruption, covering a distance of 1,942 kilometers or 1,206 miles.

The impressive feat took place on a 200-meter demo track, with 25 percent of the road equipped with Electreon's wireless charging technology. This significant milestone not only showcases the capabilities of Electreon's innovation but also highlights the potential for a future where EVs can travel limitless distances without range anxiety.

One of the primary goals of Electreon's Wireless Electric Road is to address the common concern of "EV range anxiety." By providing continuous charging while vehicles are in motion, the technology aims to ensure that EV users have ample charge at all times, alleviating any fears of running out of power during their journeys.

Unlimited Range for Electric Vehicles Soon?

The achievement of the non-stop 100-hour drive demonstrates Electreon's commitment to creating an "unlimited range" for EVs. With the company's wireless charging infrastructure embedded in the road, vehicles can seamlessly charge while on the move, allowing for extended and uninterrupted trips without the need for traditional charging stations.

Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations

One of the best things about an electric vehicle is that it can be charged anywhere, as long as it has a compatible port, or brings one's adaptor to match what is in the station.

More apps are also helping users in finding the nearest charging stations to their location, with the likes of Google Maps adding it to one's route.

However, with Electreon, the company promises to avoid the need to stop during trips just to charge their EVs, as they could do it on the road and without hooking their cars up.

The successful world record not only demonstrates the viability of Electreon's wireless charging technology but also highlights the potential for widespread adoption of this innovative solution. Wireless electric roads have the potential to revolutionize the EV industry and overcome existing limitations.

The technology has the potential to transform transportation networks, enabling EVs to travel extended distances without interruption.
