"Neon White" was only a part of the rumor mill about the new wave of games coming for Xbox. When Reddit users found this information via the Xbox Era podcast, many thought it was coming way sooner than everyone expected.
Right now, it's officially announced that this fast-paced platformer will be a part of the Xbox Game Pass next month. This is not a drill for fans who hope to play this speedrunning game on a Microsoft console.
Xbox Game Pass to Welcome 'Neon White' Soon
Earlier, Engadget reported that "Neon White" will be available soon to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. It will be free for gamers who crave speedrunning moments and gameplay.
For those who have no idea about this game, "Neon White" is simply the best title you can ever think of if you're a fan of speedrunning. Every level has a demon you need to outpace and your goal is to find the exit as fast as you can.
The platformer is not only all about running since it also borrows some dating sim elements. Annapurna Interactive made it suited for streamers and casual gamers who love beating the clock and enjoying every challenge on the internet.
Is 'Neon White' Inspired by Anime?
Back in June 2022, GamesRadar wrote that the most anticipated release of "Neon White" during the Summer Game features a lot of anime styles and characters.
Originally, it was initially accessible on Nintendo Switch and PC. For PlayStation fans, expect to see it arriving in December.
The platformer borrows some twists from the 2000s anime, which depicts demons and, of course, the famous demon assassin who is living in hell. The character has only one job and that is to kill as many demons as possible so he can have a shot to live in heaven.
"Our whole ethos for the game was to be nostalgic but not in a superficial way, we really wanted to make a game that felt cool and really felt like the self-indulgent Y2K anime game of our dreams, and part of that is embracing cringe and embracing the tropes," Esposito told GamesRadar at that time.
