The Vision Pro is coming early next year and Apple is charging customers as much as $3,500 for the mixed-reality wearable, but users do not have to pay for it if they have a Meta Quest Pro VR now. A company called Supernova Technologies has debuted its "Nova" user interface which has a bargain price that lets users try the visionOS in a VR device.

It's new experience helps in bringing a one-of-a-kind look into the virtual and augmented space which replicates what the Vision Pro introduced in the last Apple showcase.

9to5 Mac reported that the Apple visionOS experience can be found as early as now, and while it is not exactly from the Cupertino company, it presents a significant look into what to expect when it comes. This is through Supernova Technologies' latest Nova UI, which the company designed for Unity developers, designers, and creators.

This new user interface will place users behind a seemingly Vision Pro experience where a popup app grid screen will appear for their needs or experience. It also brings what Apple introduced with its XR wearable, the pinch-based interaction system, as well as the Apple gaze.

Vision Pro remains a premium offering from Apple and may not be viable for some to purchase, with the Nova UI presenting a more efficient experience.

However, the Nova UI would only be available to use via the Meta Quest Pro, Mark Zuckerberg's premium version of its VR device. Nova works with the Quest Pro's eye-tracking technology, as well as the color passthrough as its background.

The demo is now available for all users looking to try this new VR experience but would require them to own the Quest Pro wearable.

Apple's Vision Pro and Meta's Quest 3

In today's mixed-reality stage, Apple and Meta are the two massive players in the industry and have already unveiled their devices to the world.

Apple's Vision Pro is the most expensive one in the market, and it is retailed for as much as $3,500 for its base price offerings, as unveiled via the WWDC 2023. However, Apple compensates for its price with its premium experience, as well as the top technology which the company has to offer for its new mixed-reality device.

On the other hand, there is the Meta Quest 3, the successor to the famed Quest lineup. Instead of focusing on a virtual reality device, Meta made it a mixed-reality one that features almost the same design as its previous VRs, but this time, there are cameras placed outside the eye coverings to bring a live feed outside the device.

While these two companies do not share their operating systems for the other to use on their respective devices, this new experience from Supernova will enable the Quest Pro to tap into the power of the visionOS. This might not be the exact visionOS from Apple, but it presents a groundwork that replicates the experience for all to see and not have to wait for almost an entire year.
