By translating a song by artist MIDNATT into six other languages using artificial intelligence, South Korea's biggest music company, HYBE, is transforming the K-pop sector.

The music was concurrently released in May thanks to the utilization of cutting-edge technology in a recording facility in Seoul.

Beyond Language

Traditional K-pop releases include songs in Korean, Japanese, and English. It has been reported by HYBE that AI can concurrently create tunes in six different languages. This could help more well-known artists overcome linguistic limitations in their music.

A multilingual masterpiece dubbed "Masquerade" was produced by HYBE's interactive media division utilizing MIDNATT under the direction of Chung Wooyong.

Harmonic unions of linguistic variety were produced by using the voices of native speakers as well as in-house AI music technology.

How It Works

HYBE creates a natural-sounding multilingual experience by using AI-powered technology to break down sound into elements like pronunciation, timbre, pitch, and loudness.

Global viewers will have an immersive experience thanks to the technology's fine-tuning and sound enhancements.

Supertone, a business that specializes in AI technology, was purchased by HYBE in January for 45 billion won ($36 million). To remove barriers to music production, the label intends to make the AI technology used in MIDNATT's tracks accessible to composers and the general public.

The promise for AI-democratized music composition is encouraging, notwithstanding the lack of monetary disclosure.

HYBE's Opportunities and Challenges

The artistic expression of MIDNATT has been transformed by AI technology, enabling his followers worldwide to enjoy his music more fully.

The language barrier being removed will help both professional artists and a larger population, the singer said.

The Sound of AI director Valerio Velardo is optimistic that AI music technology will democratize music production and consumption, much like Instagram did for photo-sharing.

The pronunciation correction technology developed by HYBE encounters difficulties and may take weeks or months to finish.

As the technology develops and accelerates, experts like Choi Jin-woo, producer of MIDNATT's "Masquerade" and Hitchhiker, expect that it may find uses outside of music, such as real-time interpretation in video conferencing.

The AI-driven, multilingual music of K-pop demonstrates the industry's dedication to innovation and progress. K-pop has the potential to rule the world of music thanks to AI music technology, bridging linguistic and cultural divides with the use of music's unifying power.
