Kanye West's Twitter account has finally been restored after being suspended for over eight months and moving under the control of Elon Musk's social media platform X.

Following a string of offensive tweets, including one that seemed to show a swastika within a Star of David, along with glorifying Hitler and making antisemitic comments during an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the controversial musician, who legally changed his name to Ye, was subject to the Twitter ban in December.

Kanye West was subjected to harsh penalties due to the suspension, which caused him to lose access to his platform account, per Sky News. The music producer was not permitted to monetize his account on X, and no adverts would display next to his postings.

Ye's account was reinstated after X guaranteed that Ye would not abuse the site to post damaging or antisemitic remarks. As of present reporting, his Twitter account only shows his post from December 2, 2022, but several users have welcomed back the controversial artist on the platform.

User zues posted: "My goat is back," while KJ tweeted: "WE MISSED U YE, this app been a bad place since u dipped." Another X user, khi, reacted: "welcome back goat now can we get more explanation of this por favor."

Impact of Kanye West's Twitter Ban

The music producer's issues with Twitter started last year when his unpredictable conduct and harsh words alarmed others. On December 1, 2022, he made one of his previous postings stating his disgust of "cancel culture," per The Guardian.

Ye, who has won two dozen Grammys and rose to fame with his acclaimed first album, The College Dropout, was given a bipolar disorder diagnosis several years ago and has openly discussed his struggles with mental illness.

Kanye West's Twitter ban had a significant impact on his work life as well. Ye deleted his Instagram account earlier this year after being suspended twice in front of the public. For his Yeezy items, the controversy resulted in the termination of collaborations with well-known companies like Adidas and Gap. Eventually, it negatively impacted Kanye West's net worth, and his divorce with his former wife, Kim Kardashian, got finalized, according to Daily Mail.

The content management method on the network changed when Elon Musk bought Twitter in October. Although the new owner had a reputation for taking a more permissive approach, he showed West that his inflammatory statements had gone too far.

Elon Musk Reinstating Controversial Personalities on Twitter

The rapper returned to Twitter in October after his account was restored for the first time by Elon Musk, who describes himself as a free-speech absolutist.

Elon Musk previously restored former US President Donald Trump's account after a poll in which 14.8 million Twitter users participated and 51.8% voted in favor of the restoration.

But Donald Trump had said he would remain with his new platform, Truth Social, and had no interest in returning to Twitter.
