YouTube's recent announcement via its blog post introduced a set of new tools coming to its Shorts feature, with one feature standing out among the rest: converting horizontal videos to vertical format. The streaming platform claimed that it will test out this new tool to help creators transform their videos into vertical orientation with ease.

Through this new tool that will be tested out in the coming weeks, YouTubers may be able to Remix their original videos into Shorts. Its tool will aid users in the creation process and help them adjust the zoom, crop, and layout of their videos to match what they want to showcase.

Moreover, there will be a split screen feature that could help in preserving the original parts of the horizontal video to showcase more of it.

New Creator tools are also on their way to bringing better features to Shorts including the latest tool called Collab which will join Green Screen in adding one's self to videos from other creators. YouTube's Streaming and Shorts

YouTube prides itself as one of the largest and most used streaming platforms in the world, with its operations spanning almost two decades now since it first launched in 2005. Since then, there are many changes and upgrades to the platform and it is soon adding a game streaming service called "Playable" which is like Stadia, according to leaks.

Another of its modern take on video streaming is the YouTube Shorts, and it deploys a vertical video format where users can swipe up or down to scrub between different clips. Apart from launching Shorts, it also brought in Creator tools that will help expand more of the Shorts experience including AI voiceover narration, similar to TikTok.

Vertical videos are now what feels right on one's devices, as it is the regular orientation of the modern smartphone and users do not have to rotate it for their needs. YouTube Shorts is adding a slur of new tools available for Creators to address their needs, but one of the eye-catching techs here is converting horizontal clips to vertical videos under one tool, soon available for testing.
