The event takes place across three iconic cities: London, New York, and Osaka. In-person attendees get the chance to challenge Mega Rayquaza in raids during specified hours.
But here is the catch - only ticket-holding trainers for Go Fest will gain access to the coveted Mega Energy for Rayquaza.
Do not worry if you are not on-site, though; the global event on August 27 lets everyone take a shot at capturing Mega Rayquaza.
Unleash Rayquaza's Mega Evolution
To evolve your Rayquaza into its Mega form, mastering the signature move Dragon Ascent is key.
As Dexerto notes, this move is reminiscent of its evolution process in the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. It is a step-by-step journey toward unlocking Mega Rayquaza's full potential.
Rayquaza that knows Dragon Ascent will then be able to Mega Evolve when given Mega Energy.

Cannot make it to the festivities? The Global event on August 27 promises a Special Research Story that culminates in you earning a Meteorite.
Mega Rayquaza's Unique Bonuses
As you should expect, Mega Rayquaza brings an array of bonuses that will leave you craving more Mega Evolutions.
Each Mega Evolution increases its Mega Level, leading to enhanced power. During battle, the dragon bestows amplified damage on your team's attacks, especially if they're of the Flying, Dragon, or Psychic variety.

Pokemon.com tells us that Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Global is a free event available to everyone, but Trainers can upgrade their experience by purchasing a ticket that gives access to special content and bonuses.
Tickets are available in the in-game shop for US$14.99. This will provide access to exclusive Special Research, Global Challenges, bonuses, and exclusive Incense encounters.
On Saturday, ticket holders can complete Special Research for an opportunity to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Diancie. On Sunday, the exclusive Special Research will feature Mega Rayquaza and Meteorites.
