Google Maps has released a new update that will allow users to utilize emojis when searching for specific areas. With this new feature, Google Maps users will be able to use emojis instead of having to spell out the names of their favorite places.

New Google Maps Feature Will Allow Users to Use Emojis to Search for Favorite Places

According to Phone Arena, Google Maps launched a new feature that will allow users to use emojis to search for their favorite places. That would reportedly increase the speed of searching since users only need to place the emoji instead of spelling the names of places where they want to go.

It was also reported that in order to do this, users will simply have to look at the Saved tabs on the user's Google Maps app. At the bottom of the app, users need to create lists of places they want to visit or their favorite locations.

Google Maps New Update Allows for Customized Emojis in Different Locations

Google recently posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that users will be able to customize these saved places due to the new update. The latest change allows Google Maps users to utilize emojis for their saved locations, meaning they can easily apply food and sports emojis or other emojis.

Users can mark these locations with their personalized emojis, which can represent their experience or fondness for the place. For example, users can apply the star or pin emoji for their favorite location or even assign emojis to their friends' locations.

Google Also Allows the Same Emoji to be Used Multiple Times, as Seen in Its Promotional Content

As seen in the Google post, users will be able to place multiple emojis at once, making Google Maps more entertaining with different emojis representing different places.

As revealed in the image, Google Maps users can recycle emojis for different places, showing how the Nail Polish emoji is being used twice.

Adding an emoji to a certain location is fairly simple. Users must first open the Google Maps app and click on the Saved tab at the lower part of the screen. It was reported that this feature cannot be used for the default list like "Favorites," "Want to Go," or "Starred places."
