Digital Film is getting a significant upgrade in the body of a small DSLR camera, with Blackmagic Design unveiling its first full-frame camera called the "Cinema Camera 6K." This new contender in the full-frame camera industry is one powerful device, delivering significant quality with its 6K sensor, with the company changing to L-Mount lenses that move away from the EF mount. 

The camera body itself is a massive upgrade from its previous releases, promising enhancements to quality and outputs, meant for film, shoots, content creators, and more. 

Blackmagic Design Debuts the Cinema Camera 6K

Blackmagic Design unveiled its latest camera in the lineup, with Cinema Camera 6K making its way to deliver the first full-frame device from the company. The camera is marketed as a "Digital Film" device that can produce rich colors and precise skin tones, a massive full-frame 24 x 36 mm 6K sensor that has a native resolution of 6048 x 4032.

The company claimed that this camera has a three times larger sensor than its Super 35. 

It is capable of shooting different formats and methods, from shallow depth of field shots to uncropped cinematic looks where users can attach anamorphic lenses.

Cinema Camera 6K offers 13 stops of dynamic range with dual native ISO up to 25,600 for low noise images, in different lightings. It also records directly to CFexpress or SSDs.

Blackmagic claims users can use the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K's attachments and accessories on this new release.

Full-Frame with L-Mount Lens

One of the most important features of this full-frame camera is its adoption of the L-Mount lens, alongside partners including Panasonic, Leica, Sigma, and more. 

Alongside the Cinema Camera 6K, the company debuted the Blackmagic Camera iPhone app which delivers professional camera controls and quality. 

The Cinema Camera 6K is now available to buy for $2,595, and is among the lowest-priced full-frame camera in the market now. 

Blackmagic's Tech

Blackmagic is best known for its high-tech offers in the past, with the company also centering on cameras like its recent offer, with different professional and creative choices offered before. One iconic camera in its lineup was the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, a Super 35 camera that is capable of shooting an effective resolution of 6,144 x 3,456p, also compatible with its dedicated video editor.

However, Blackmagic Design is also famous for its software and tools meant for creators to get the most out of what its hardware has to offer, a connected experience available in multi-platform. The DaVinci Resolve is a renowned video editing application that is on par with Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Corel VideoStudio Ultimate, and more.

Full-frame cameras are the standard now for video and photo, with Blackmagic Design bringing its first contender in the industry with the Cinema Camera 6K. As it changed from the EF mount to L-Mounts, the camera is getting more to shoot with a large diameter fit for modern and advanced full-frame sensors, promising an exquisite experience at 6K, a wide dynamic range, and more.
