Getting the new iPhone 15 series would bring users the latest of what Apple has to offer, but the company has a feature that it did not explicitly reveal, called the Precision Finding feature. Using this, users can utilize the Find My app to look for friends, and if they have also upgraded to the new smartphone, these users can locate each other from up to 60 meters away.

The Cupertino giant released the second-generation Ultra-Wideband chip with the iPhone 15 series that claims to triple the range of the feature, more than U1's offers.

A new Find My feature is now available for the iPhone 15 series, a feature that is exclusive to the current-gen smartphone from Apple, with it being called the Precision Finding. This feature helps users find things at an extended range, particularly as much as 60 meters away, to help locate friends who are under the same smartphone series.

This new video from Teknófilio explains what the phenomenon is all about, and with Precision Finding, one's smartphone could find a registered friend or family via the Find My app, as long as they also have the iPhone 15.

If the feature is available, it will display the "Find: Nearby" button for users to use, and this will bring them an arrow to follow and calculate the distance for as much as 60 meters.

Apple's 2nd-Gen UWB Chip for the iPhone 15

This feature was made possible thanks to the iPhone 15's second-generation ultra-wideband chip, an upgrade from the iPhone 14, and the AirTags' U1 chip which can only bring around 10 to 15 meters of detection.

With the maximum range of the 2nd-gen UWB chip giving out as much as 60 meters, it is true to Apple's claims of three times better than before, hardware that could upgrade the AirTags soon.

iPhone 15's Unique Features

Certainly, there is massive debate online regarding the upgrades introduced by Apple to the iPhone 15 series, with fans filled with glee on what it has to offer, and those who claim there are no massive changes. One of the biggest features that Apple introduced is USB-C, and with the iPhone 15 Pro, there is USB 3.0 that allows a suite of new features to take advantage of for productivity and more.

There is also the exclusive feature of a new Battery Health control that would help protect the device's power cell from charging past 80 percent, a feature that is unique to the iPhone 15 series. This is not the "Optimized Battery Charging" feature that stops the charging at 80 percent and continues later on to fully charge the device when it is time to wake up or use it.

Another beloved feature of the iPhone 15 is the Action Button that replaces the mute switch and helps integrate more shortcuts to the physical button.

The iPhone 15 ushered in a new era for Apple regarding its smartphone, and while there are still many things missing, Cupertino's claims like a better UWB chip, are real and accessible via the Find My app.
