Well over a year after the launch of its Mini 3 Pro, DJI is taking consumers back into the skies with an even more revolutionary product upgrade. Releasing today, September 25, 2023, DJI's Mini 4 Pro is yet another testament to the firm's commitment to thinking boldly for its aerial solutions, leveraging some of the most advanced and state-of-the-art concepts in line with relative affordability.

The Mini 4 Pro is retailing at $759 for the device and RC-N2 remote controller. It will feature some impressive upgrades in the form of a New Image-Processing Platform, dual native ISO function, and 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor for the most impressive image quality possible. Users will be capable of performing simplified content for socials thanks to True Verttical Shooting, a popular mode introduced on the Mini 3 Pro.

Thanks to the enhancements, DJI's Mini 4 Pro shoots 4K/60fps HDR video and 4K/100fps Slo-Mo video in tandem with 48MP image resolution on a f/1.7 aperture. Night Shots will be made all the more incredible thanks to the upgraded noise reduction processes for optimal low-light aerial photography.

Beyond noise reduction and overall enhancements that make image quality as perfect as can be in drone footage, the Mini 4 Pro also sports HLG for vibrant, bright, and realistic color quality. This applies to wherever your content ends, whether it be YouTube, Instagram, or a framed photo over the fireplace, DJI ensures that colors remain as true-to-life as can be through an incredibly high dynamic range output and professional-grade 10-bit D-log M recording.

While stabilization and sensor technology surely would find impeccable improvements, so too do the outer protective qualities. DJI has continued to make the Mini lineup a relative sweet spot for newcomers in the space, and the Mini 4 Pro is yet more proof of its commitment to making drones all the more accessible.

The Mini 4 Pro comes equipped with Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS), which allows it to automatically bypass obstacles and brake mid-air in certain scenarios, ensuring your drone stays protected even in the most dire situations. It also has several sensors, including a pair of downward and wide-angle options for all-around protection, whether in take-off, landing, or mid-air.

DJI estimates an approximate flight time of around 34 minutes, depending on conditions and the mode in use. This can be upgraded with the firm's Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, which lasts 45 minutes in flight (also dependent on mode and wind velocity). The Mini 4 Pro also has an estimated transmission distance of up to 20km. As with most DJI drones, it also comes with an Advanced Return-to-Home function for immediate and safe retrievals.

Additional modes beyond the Vertical Shooting option include Master- and QuickShots, Panorama, Hyperlapse, ActiveTrack 360 degrees, Point of Interest, and Spotlight. ActiveTrack is made all the more intuitive DJI claims thanks to the Mini 4 Pro's omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Panorama allows users to take stunning landscape shots in Vertical, Wide Angle, 180 degrees, and Sphere.

DJI's Mini platform is made yet again all the more interesting, allowing new and amateur fliers to meet regulations while still having an exceptional experience under that 250-gram limit.
