Lyft investigators have found Tux the Cat, the viral sick pet that was left behind in the back seat of a hailed car, according to her owner, Palash Pandey, after several days and a massive goose hunt for the driver. The investigators from the company found Tux next to a building, with the cat running up a set of stairs before finally being retrieved.

The investigators said that they wrapped Tux with the extra clothes they have and put her inside a carrier which they brought before returning to Pandey.

According to Pandey, Tux was covered in fleas, dehydrated, and seemed confused after the whole debacle took place. It was unknown what happened to Tux's original carrier and where she was dropped off, particularly as to why she was set free by "Daniel," the ride's driver.

What Happened Exactly in this Lyft Incident?

Palash Pandey went to X to share his experience, being one of the nightmares of pet owners, after trying various ways to contact the driver and reporting this incident to Lyft.

He pleaded with the driver to return Tux and he was willing to pay an extra fee for her safe return, but in the conversation screenshots, the driver was unresponsive. The driver contacted Pandey because he was called by APD, giving various reasons, but Tux was already gone.

Lyft helped Pandey retrieve Tux, initially asking a $20 fee for the item's return, but ultimately claiming that it would cover all of her veterinary bills after the incident.

Lyft's Services and Its Plans

Ride-hailing has become a massive part of the country's transportation choice and culture, as people prefer a personal approach to going from one place to the other, dominated by companies like Lyft, Uber, and more. Its previous president and renowned co-founder, John Zimmer, has claimed that the company aims to dive into autonomous and driverless services offered by its app.

In Minneapolis, Uber and Lyft threatened to stop their operations after the city passed this as a law, especially as it still centers on a commission-based setup where drivers earn their share.

The recent incident that got the internet riled up is now closed, with Pandey already reunited with Tux, but the carrier remains to be seen and Lyft has shared no information regarding the said driver.
