Amazon's Prime Day sale, its second time this year, is only days ahead, and early deals are here for users to enjoy, including the cheapest 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD that only costs $158.

However, early tests were performed on this computer part and are claiming a not-so-good performance from the hardware. While Prime Day offers many iconic devices and computer parts on sale, not all are good, and in this case, it could entice users to buy them because they are cheap, but there is a risk.

Amazon Prime Day Sale: FanXiang's 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD

The early sale devices leading up to Prime Day are already flooding the market, including the FanXiang S660, a 4TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD that features a heatsink, dynamic SLC cache, and more.

It is available for only $157.99 and is compatible with the PS5, Laptop, and PC Desktop. It sounds like a good deal, being the cheapest 4TB out there that claims to pack power for its users. However, it is important to look first and consider the reviews before purchasing it on the internet.

According to a recent test from ServeTheHome, the FanXiang S660 4TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD generally performs poorly in different aspects of its benchmarking but is not the "worst" it reviewed.

It used the SPECworkstation 3.0.2 Storage Benchmark under fifteen separate tests. It clocked a read speed of 4.1 KB/s and a write speed of 242 MB/s with ten simultaneous write threads, filling the drive up to 85 percent.

Its post-cache write speed also clocked in at 180 MB/s only. Temperature benchmarks are okay, topping out at 65°C. However, it is not the fastest, and extending the budget could land users on a more remarkable device, even for smaller storage options.

SSDs for Your Needs: Sales and MORE

Among those constantly seeing discounted prices are Samsung's SSDs, centering on its 4.0 PCIe NVMe M2, with the 1TB 990 recently seeing a $75 price on Amazon.

There was also a significant sale for a 4TB M.2 SSD from Lexar, the NM790, and it was the lowest price spotted on Amazon, which only sold for around $200, from its $250 initial price.

Lexar is among the renowned brands for storage and other computer hardware, and this is undoubtedly one of the top buys for those looking to save up on their parts purchases online.

Many massive deals are popping up now, and it is always good to be vigilant when seeing one and also consider watching or reading reviews online to avoid wasting money.

The Prime Day coming later this month will still bring more technologies available at discounted prices, so there will still be many options aside from FanXiang 4TB SSD.
