One of the most notable things about a Tesla is how it can get Over the Air (OTA) updates to patch its systems, and the recent Hardware 3.0 upgrade is now live for all eligible EVs to download. It brings a significant improvement to the car's cameras, with Tesla known for equipping it with all-around lenses for safety monitoring, as well as its self-driving tech.
This new upgrade was said to help Tesla Cameras get a clearer view of the outside world, removing the grain that would be disruptive to one's experience.
Tesla Hardware 3.0 Upgrade Is Here for Cameras

Tesla released a new update called 2023.38, as shared by Not a Tesla App, detailing the release notes from the company which also targets the previous gen Hardware 3.0. The previous update, 2023.32, saw massive complaints from users as its cameras produce low-quality, grainy, and unclear video, something which has been a problem among its users.
In this version, the camera used by Sentry Mode and the Dashcam helps improve the look and quality of the video, avoiding inaccuracies in the feed.
The release note states that Tesla's video post-processing saw improvements, centering on white and color balance enhancements for a better view.

Clearer View for Cameras-Should You Update?
Apart from the clearer view for cameras, Tesla also adds improvements to the rear camera view that removes some of the distracting elements present like a part of the vehicle's trunk and bumper. This OTA update is available worldwide, something that users should download for their EVs to improve the experience and get a clearer view of their safety and security.
Tesla's Cameras and Technology for the EV
Part of what makes Tesla EVs one of the most advanced in the market are its cameras, and this is not just one, but a multitude of lenses that surround the body for many features and tech. Last year, Tesla struck a deal with Samsung to bring more cameras to its EVs, equipping it with these devices to improve its self-driving technology for those eligible to use it.
Apart from monitoring the environment and other drivers on the road, Tesla also upgraded its cameras inside the cabin to monitor drivers who may be practicing misuse or engaging in dangerous driving while using its tech. It can go as far as detecting if a driver is drowsy while behind the wheel and the EV is moving, and this would help avoid further accidents.
Over the Air updates from Tesla are not a new thing anymore, and it is an iconic as users no longer need to bring it to dealerships or shops every time there is new technology. The latest update available is Hardware 3.0, aimed at improving what the EV cameras show to drivers, also better footage to capture in case there is an accident or an unfortunate event.
