Famous boarding prep school Cottesmore School made history by appointing an AI robot named Abigail Bailey as its "principal headteacher."

The institution has implemented an AI breakthrough in partnership with an artificial intelligence developer to support Tom Rogerson, the headmaster, in several facets of educational administration.

The AI robot headteacher has proven to be quite helpful in providing advice in a variety of situations, from supporting staff members to aiding students with ADHD and even developing school regulations, according to Tom Rogerson, headmaster of Cottesmore School.

Efficient and Helpful Aid

According to Rogerson, AI robot headteacher Abigail Bailey has been carefully created to have a wealth of understanding in school administration and machine learning, enabling it to examine enormous volumes of data. The school official was quoted by The Telegraph, saying, "Sometimes having someone or something there to help you is a very calming influence. It's nice to think that someone who is unbelievably well-trained is there to help you make decisions."

Rogerson emphasized that even with the inclusion of this AI breakthrough in Cottesmore School, human advice remains a crucial factor. He emphasized the comforting element of having AI help instantly available, guaranteeing there is no need to wait for responses or disturb others with concerns, and he described the headteacher's duty as frequently being a "lonely job."

The school official remarked that he aims to provide state school headteachers access to this publicly available AI robot as part of a forward-thinking effort. To assist school administrators in making decisions, Abigail Bailey can offer a seven-point plan of action or be programmed to engage in a question-and-answer session.

Boys and girls between the ages of four and 13 can attend Cottesmore School, which is renowned for its honors, including being voted Tatler's "prep school of the year," with annual tuition for UK students reaching about £32,000 ($39,026).

Following Cottesmore's earlier decision to advertise for a "head of AI" job, which was intended to incorporate technology into the school's curriculum and provide teachers with advice on how to properly manage their workload, the school has now added an AI robot as the senior headteacher.

AI Principal Headteacher's Important Role

Similar to the popular chatbot ChatGPT, AI robot headmaster Abigail Bailey allows users to ask questions and receive answers created by an algorithm., per WION.The Cottesmore School has also unveiled Jamie Rainer, a second AI-based robot that it describes as a "highly trained adviser on generative AI." Jamie's duties include assisting with curricular technology integration and offering guidance to instructors on how to lighten their workloads.

Additionally, Cottesmore School students now have access to personal AI robots that may help them better understand their particular learning preferences. Rogerson is certain that educators must teach their pupils how to work together with artificial intelligence, which he considers to be a "world-changing" technology. He highlighted that robots will not take the position of human teachers, despite these technological breakthroughs.

In Mr. Rogerson's words, as quoted by Daily Mail: "We are stepping into the future while preserving the core values of traditional education. The introduction of AI is not about replacing our dedicated educators but about augmenting their capabilities and ensuring our students receive the best education possible."
