As we all know, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe released the last round of its Booster Deluxe Pack DLC, and there are fears that it also suggests the nearing of its life, with many rumors behind the Mario Kart X by Nintendo. In a new report, it was said that Mario Kart X (what happened to Mario Kart 9?) is the most expensive development of the Japanese gaming company to date.

Zippo, a renowned insider, has revealed the latest information regarding the development of the next mainline game on the famed racing game, with Mario Kart X being the most expensive game now. They also revealed that Mario Kart X is a collaborative work of two studios, one being Nintendo's EPD Production Group 9 and Bandai Namco serving as their co-developer.

While it was not revealed how much this project has cost Nintendo now, it was reported that the company did not spare any expense in creating this game.

Moreover, the next 3D Mario game was regarded for its high quality when it came out, but Mario Kart X will have graphics that will be "even better."

This also raises the question of where the next Mario Kart release would be, with Zippo's report claiming that it is meant for the successor, the Nintendo Switch 2. Still, this remains unconfirmed, both the game and the next-gen console, especially as many gamers would request it to be available on the current Switch consoles too.

Nintendo's Mario Kart Franchise

The next Mario Kart game slated for release centers on "Mario Kart 10," which is the "Mario Kart 9" in terms of counting it by its actual numbers, and it was said that they will offer massive experiences. It was previously rumored that it would be the next in line to the current Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a refreshed Wii U game that was made available to the Switch platform back in 2018.

Mario Kart Live Circuit was the ninth title in the franchise which is why Nintendo would no longer name its next mainline release, Mario Kart 9. This was the version that Nintendo released featuring augmented reality (AR) features, offering a real-life remote-controlled racing kart with Mario and Luigi's mobile toy-like figures.

Like the mainline Super Mario franchise, Mario Kart is also seeing massive developments for its future releases, with the next game centering on Mario Kart X, which is speculated to be coming for the Nintendo Switch. It is unknown what console Nintendo would deliver the Mario Kart X to, especially with rumors regarding the Switch 2, which is currently its most expensive game under development.
