India's government sounded the alarm as "Cyber Party" hackers plan to crash its digital infrastructure. The cyberattack was tipped to take place on Dec. 11 in the country.

With reports of one of the largest hacker groups planning the attack, authorities in India have urged immediate improvements in cybersecurity protocols.

As reported by News18 via Business Today, the directive comes in the wake of the group's history of targeting various nations and its explicit focus on India's health sector infrastructure.

'Cyber Party' Attack

The scheduled "Cyber Party" attack adds urgency to the situation, prompting the Indian government to issue directives to all government departments.

The alert, sourced from a Telegram channel with 4,000 members, indicates the group's intent to target essential services, heightening the need for enhanced cybersecurity readiness.

History of Hacking

The hacker group, previously issuing a "red notice" against 12,000 government websites, has a track record of international cyber activities. According to CNBC, the targets include the United States, Sweden, and Israel, with motivations ranging from religious sentiments to specific community-based actions.

Furthermore, the group's audacious claims involve data leaks from Swedish social media users, acquiring health and social media data from Israel, and even taking credit for leaking data from a New York police department. This unsettling pattern emphasizes the critical importance of robust cybersecurity not only in India but on a global scale.

Addressing the Evolving Cyber Threat Landscape

Officials acknowledge the evolving nature of cyber threats, presenting a substantial challenge to digital infrastructure security.

As hacker groups become more coordinated and threats intensify, a proactive and collaborative approach is imperative to strengthen global cybersecurity frameworks and effectively respond to emerging challenges.

In another report, Microsoft's security researchers revealed that there are Russian propagandists who are manipulating information in a cameo.

According to Tech Times, the campaign which was spearheaded by Russians are making rounds on the internet. The campaign featured edited videos of Mike Tyson and other American celebrities.

The manipulated clips also showed some footage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. What's more, the discussion was all about substance abuse. The propagandists also provided some links and pro-Russian accounts were shared all over the social media channels.

When asked about the legitimacy of videos, Tyson's camp said that personality has "zero involvement" in participating in such makeshift content. The representatives clarified that all information about Mike is false.

Some experts believe that Russia is doing its job to manipulate the truth away from Ukraine. There might be an online troll farm that managed this campaign.
