TMZ reported that this 2023 Holiday season is the year of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" again, particularly in the Swedish music streaming app, Spotify, with none other than its singer, Mariah Carey. This was because in this year, Carey has beaten her previous 2022 record, with a new number to boast of this year for this specific track, seeing 23, 701, 697 times played on Christmas Eve.
On last year's Christmas Eve (2022), the song saw a record 21,273,357 streams, and the American pop star also saw record-breaking numbers on Spotify in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Each Holiday season, MC has seen her numbers grow, breaking the one before it.
Almost 30 years since the first release of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" which debuted in 1994, the song has taken its spot as one of the go-to tracks during the holidays, with already 781 million views on YouTube.

On Mimi's Spotify page, the song already reached a total of 1,777,520,006 streams on the platform alone, and this is not yet mentioning her other Christmas-themed tracks which are displaying millions of plays.
However, TMZ mentioned that despite topping Spotify and smashing her records again, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" failed to grasp the cusp of the Billboard Hot 100 for a week, as it was beaten by Brenda Lee's "Christmas."
