Samsung teases yet another showcase for its CES 2024 press conference, the company's newest foldable technology spearheaded by the "In&Out Flip," and OLEd displays with both folding and sliding capabilities, Tech Crunch reports.

The CES 2024 showcase, as per a Samsung Display press release, will be unveiling details and specifics on the more "eye catching product" on the tech trade show, the "In&Out Flip." A product Samsung teases as a folding gadget that resembles a flip phone. It can fold in all directions thanks to its special in-and-out folding technology.

"In&Out Flip" supposedly achieves a sleeker and smaller design with a single display that can be folded outwards to allow usage of the display even when folded, in contrast to standard in-folding devices that require an extra panel on the outside for showing information while folded.

The Korea Times adds that attendees to Samsung Display's exhibition will get a rare opportunity to watch a smartphone durability test. The foldable smartphone will be put through harsh weather, including 60 degree heat and minus 20 degree cold, sand abrasion, and submersion in water, to demonstrate its resilience.

Aside from the "In&Out Flip" Samsung Display will also reportedly showcase a variety of other cutting-edge devices. Among these is the Rollable Flex, a particularly unique gadget that, when unrolled, can expand the screen up to five times its initial size, mimicking the process of unfolding a scroll.

The Flex Hybrid, which blends the features of slidable and foldable technology, is another innovative invention. Finally, a wireless earphone cover with an integrated display will also be reportedly on exhibit from Samsung Display.

Samsung's OLED Spectacles

Samsung Display will also reportedly demonstrate its OLED technology in a range of form factors and sizes. Included in this are QD-OLEDs made for displays with the maximum pixel density and refresh rates possible for self-illuminating technology. Additionally, the business will also showcase QD-OLEDs, which are made especially for televisions and have the maximum brightness on the market.

The Flex Note Extendable is one of these innovative OLED devices, made specifically for car interiors. It will reportedly support a foldable panel that can be stretched and unfurled to give consumers a bigger screen. When fully folded, the Flex Note Extendable measures 11 inches; however, by unfolding one side, it can be expanded to 13.8 inches, or a 10:9 aspect ratio. The dimension may be expanded even further to 17.3 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio by sliding out the opposite part.

Samsung is also poised to showcase its advancements in the large-size display industry by launching the world's first 360Hz OLED monitor and the best self-illuminating ultra-high definition (UHD) OLED monitor.

A new 31.5-inch UHD (3840x2160) QD-OLED display is being introduced by the firm. It is the best self-illuminating display in terms of pixel density and UHD resolution. The visual sharpness of a 65-inch 8K TV is comparable to the enhanced pixel density of 140 PPI (Pixel Per Inch), the display will reportedly offer a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz.

Samsung on CES 23024

Tech Crunch proves to be skeptical of the showcases as the report implies the latest technology showcases are within the proof of concept stage, often signaling that the devices could be under an evolutionary dead end.

Engadget reports that Samsung's CES 2024 showcase will happen one day before the exhibits officially open, specifically on January 8 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Vice Chairman, CEO, and head of Samsung's DX (Device eXperience) Division Jong-Hee Han will reportedly be in charge of the event.
