For so long, battle royale games have one mechanic for you to win individually or as a group, and it is to survive and be the last gamer standing in the end. However, that is no longer the case with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, as the famed first-person shooter introduced a new way to grab victory despite not being the superior soldier in the game, available in Season 1 Reloaded.

Call of Duty's latest blog announced the upcoming update next week under the S1 Reloaded release, and apart from the new content and experiences available, it introduced a way to win the game despite not surviving the match.

This is with the mechanic known as "Covert Exfil" which Warzone 2.0 previously mentioned to arrive in the game. Through this Covert Exfil feature, players may call in helicopters to exit the match early and still be declared a winner.

There would only be five exfils available per match, said Warzone 2.0, and it would be available for a high price.

How to Win Warzone 2.0 Without Surviving the Battle Royale

Covert Exfils are available to purchase in Buy Stations, and would only be available before the Gulag closes for the match, typically when there are only 20 gamers left.

The helicopters would only be available five times per match, and the game said that players flying out of the game "ideally" should have a Weapons Case with them upon extraction.

According to Raven Software, one of Warzone 2.0's developers, successful Covert Exfils would not be considered a traditional win, but rather a "separate stat" and would not count for one's Champion's Quest progress.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0's Battle Royale

When Activision Blizzard, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software released Warzone 2.0, it received mixed reviews from gamers for what it has to offer, especially in how it changed since the hit pandemic release of the original game. Renowned Call of Duty streamer, Dr DisRespect also shared his two cents regarding the DMZ mode, saying that it was designed by sixth graders.

The battle royale game was still one of the top-regarded experiences in the console platform, especially with its stint with the PlayStation as an exclusive FPS shooter. However, Warzone 2.0 has been filled with bugs that annoyed gamers since last year, with one issue shadowbanning players that get 10 kills in a match, believed to be part of the anti-cheating system it enforced.

Gamers also complained about the many "play-to-win" offers from Activision Blizzard which it added along the way, with those who can afford the premium skins getting an edge over regular gamers.

Now, Warzone 2.0 is shaking up the mechanics in S1 Reloaded with the Covert Exfil, offering players to win the game despite not staying long enough to face the best gamers and besting all 149 participants.
