According to a new press release from Porsche USA, its latest upgrades made for the first fully-electric vehicle of the company are now here, with the 2025 Taycan Turbo S and other models debuting. The main focus of the car brand is to bring enhancements to its already iconic Taycan, with the specific trim of the Turbo S model shaving off three fractions of a second to its acceleration.

Both the 2025 Taycan Turbo S and its hatchback called the Taycan Cross Turismo offer four powertrain options for the users, available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

More importantly, the Sports Chrono package of the EV offers an additional boost of up to 70kW and offers a feature to call upon the vehicle and have it autonomously come to its owner in ten seconds.

The company said that its new Taycan lineup is heading to US showrooms this Summer 2024.

Moreover, it brings faster charging capabilities, made ideal for 800-volt charging stations, for up to 320kW.

Porsche also boasts of as much as 587 kilometers or 364 miles of estimated range for its upgraded power cells.

The Iconic EV from Porsche: Taycan

Initially released by Porsche in 2018, the Taycan Turbo S is one of the earliest sports electric vehicles made available to the public, best known for offering an all-wheel drive with dual-electric motor, 260 miles of range, with 0 to 60mph in only 2.6 seconds. Moreover, it gained massive dominance for besting the Tesla Model S in various drag races, including reviews from users.

There have been several updates from Porsche that brought improvements to the Taycan over the years, as the company did not bring major changes since its debut around six years ago. Last year, a combination of software and hardware upgrades were delivered by the company, with the 2023 version debuting the panoramic glass roof with Porsche's Roof Transport System.

While this was Porsche's first fully-electric vehicle released to the world, it has not yet been forgotten by the company, as this latest update offers essential improvements to its performance. The new body styles of the Taycan Turbo S accompany the wide range of features introduced in this 2025 version, with a faster acceleration and increased range, for all kinds of drive.
