Accessing Super Bowl for Free

Paramount Plus offers a comprehensive solution for viewers keen on experiencing Super Bowl 2024 without the need for traditional cable subscriptions. Other streaming services are also offering free trials, but Paramount Plus is arguably providing the most enticing offer.

Ahead of the highly anticipated clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs, The Verge reported that interested parties can avail themselves of Paramount Plus' trial offer, ensuring access to the event without financial commitment.

New users can utilize Paramount Plus' 7-day trial period to access Super Bowl 2024. Registration entails the provision of essential personal details, including name, address, and billing information.

Subscribers who cancel their trial before its expiration will not incur any charges. Alternatively, Paramount Plus presents subscription plans designed to cater to diverse preferences.

Options include a $5.99/month plan featuring advertisements or an $11.99/month plan offering ad-free content with the inclusion of Showtime, albeit excluding live TV. Annual subscription plans are also available, offering cost-saving benefits priced at $59.99/year or $119.99/year.

Alternative Options

However, it might be wise to have a backup plan at the ready. Reports are surfacing of technical difficulties plaguing the NFL pre-show streaming on Paramount+, mere hours ahead of the anticipated kickoff for the 2024 Super Bowl.

Some users have encountered instances where the Super Bowl feed crashes entirely, rendering it inaccessible on the platform. While a refresh may temporarily restore the feed for some users, the issue persists, with downtime reported by numerous viewers.

According to DownDetector, reports of Paramount+ downtime began to escalate around 5:20 pm ET, and complaints continue to mount.

Should you possess a TV antennae, users can catch the game at zero expense via CBS. Alternatively, you can opt for subscription-based live TV streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, DirecTV Stream, or Fubo, all of which offer CBS as part of their streaming packages.

However, it's worth noting that these viewing alternatives can come with a hefty price tag, ranging from $70 to $80 per month. Mashable reported that given the significance of the Super Bowl, having these backup options readily available might be deemed worthwhile to some.

Although Paramount Plus doesn't rank among the top-tier streaming platforms,  Tom's Guide reported that it has notably improved over time. Similar to its counterparts, the service features a blend of original programming and licensed content.

Noteworthy originals on Paramount Plus include critically acclaimed series like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Evil, alongside Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone spinoffs, 1923 and 1883.

What sets Paramount Plus apart is its appeal to cord-cutters, offering live news coverage, including local channels spanning 13 markets such as Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York.
