The University of Pennsylvania has announced its latest academic offering, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) in Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

The new program is not only the first of its kind among Ivy League institutions but also one of the first AI undergraduate engineering programs in the United States.

Rapid AI Development

With its rapid progress, it is hard to deny that AI has become a ubiquitous force, influencing numerous fields, including healthcare, transportation, commerce, and even national security. 

According to Marketsandmarkets, the AI market is expected to grow to a staggering $407 billion by 2027, up from an estimated $86.9 billion in 2022.

With this in mind, the University of Pennsylvania is preparing to provide the next generation of engineers with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate this nascent but rapidly evolving industry.

The Raj and Neera Singh Program in Artificial Intelligence aims to empower students to use AI's potential to benefit society. The curriculum focuses on high-level coursework in machine learning, computing algorithms, data analytics, and advanced robotics, preparing students to face the challenges and opportunities AI presents.

One of the program's main highlights is its emphasis on ethical development. Recognizing the ethical implications of AI, all students must complete an ethics requirement, ensuring they approach AI development with responsibility and integrity.
