Google TV, known for its versatility and user-friendly interface, underwent a significant performance upgrade in December, focusing on faster load times and overall enhancements.

Now, the tech giant is introducing a visual overhaul to further enhance the user experience with several visual changes and minor tweaks to existing functionalities.

Google reveals a major redesign for the Google TV. With this, users have so much to look for some visual changes on the home screen.

One of the key highlights of the visual overhaul is the redesign of icons in the "Your apps" section. This redesign has been in the works for some time, with Google emphasizing the need for developers to adapt their icons for Google TV apps.

The introduction of circular app icons offers the Google TV home screen a fresh look, replacing the previous chunky rectangular boxes/icons. This new design enhances aesthetics and optimizes space utilization, allowing for more apps to be displayed in the "Your apps" section. Additionally, Google has added features like reorder and add app buttons, providing users greater customization options for organizing their apps.

Shortcut to Free TV Channels

In addition to the visual changes, Google is introducing a convenient shortcut to free TV channels directly within the "Your apps" row. This feature, previously seen on Android TV, allows users to access a variety of content at no cost, ranging from local news to movies and sports.

While most of these changes will be rolled out gradually over the next few days, some features, such as free TV channels, are currently limited to the US, with Germany offering limited support for live TV. Google's support page provides a comprehensive list of available free TV channels in the US.

Google TV Redesign Will Launch Soon Around the World

Although the redesigned home screen may not be immediately available on all devices, Google assures users that these changes will be gradually rolled out to all devices over the coming months.

While users may experience a short wait for the complete implementation of the revamped interface, the upcoming enhancements promise to elevate the Google TV experience for users worldwide, per Android Police's report.
