It is widely known that the Cybertruck is full of innovations, but one user claimed that there is a "serious problem," pointing out a design flaw in Tesla's electric pickup. In a viral TikTok video, the owner, Jose Martinez, a.k.a. "el.chepito1985," showed what the issue is about, claiming that the accelerator 'got stuck' at one time when he was driving.

Since the post, they have already gained two million views on TikTok, and several reposts on Elon Musk's social media, X, have garnered massive user streams.

Jose Martinez of South California claimed that as he was driving his car, the accelerator pedal got stuck. After the horrific incident, the owner created a TikTok that detailed what happened. Here, he showed the world what went wrong during his drive and demonstrated how the accelerator pedal rubber trim slipped out of the metal pedal and got stuck on the floorboard of the EV.

During the driving incident, Martinez told NBC News in an interview that he slammed on the brakes, and when he let go, the electric pickup accelerated at a high speed again.

Users via X have also reposted Martinez's video on the platform, with the posts triggering massive questions about the pickup. Other reports last week also claimed that the Cybertruck saw an "unexpected delay" from the company regarding accelerator issues.

NHTSA Now Investigating Cybertruck Accelerator Issue

After the entire fiasco, it caught the attention of federal regulators, particularly the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which cited that they are aware of the issue and are now looking into it.

There were also other issues with the Cybertruck before, including its sharp edges, where an owner claimed that the EV cut their hand.

Tesla Cybertruck: Features and Issues

Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck late last year, and it was a reveal that the world has been waiting for for many years touted by the company to be the first electric pickup truck (despite Rivian, Ford, and GM going ahead). Five years after its announcement, the November event for the Cybertruck promised massive features, including 11,000 lbs. of towing capacity, all-wheel drive, off-road capabilities, torque vectoring, and more.

However, the same feature that Tesla promised owners about the Cybertruck, its off-road capabilities, was questioned by users shortly, and it was less than two weeks since the company released the EV. This was because of a video showing the Cybertruck struggling to go past a snowy hill with minimal cargo, with many calling for independent assessments.

Additionally, there was an issue with Cybertruck's resale clause, as owners are required to keep the EV for at least a year and are not allowed to resell it or would face a lawsuit and fine from the company.

Several months after the Cybertruck's official release, an owner has questioned its design and safety, citing flaws on the stuck accelerator pedal that brought federal regulation attention to it.
