Charge Your iPhone on a Game Boy with Elago’s New MagSafe Charging Stand

Retro consoles and elements are great to display and use, but Elago takes it to the next level by designing a new MagSafe charging stand for the iPhone that resembles Nintendo's Game Boy Advance SP handheld.

This new charging accessory may not allow users to play their old Game Boy games and fully relive the nostalgia, but it is an excellent addition to the desktop that doubles as a charger.

There are many MagSafe charging stands on the market, but only a few are witty or nostalgic.

Elago introduced the MagSafe MS W5 Charging Stand, a new accessory for iPhone charging that resembles one of the most iconic gaming handhelds, the Game Boy Advance SP.

There are no special tools needed to install the device, as right out of the box, users only need to connect the necessary parts to make it look like the old console.

It offers strong magnets for the iPhones to connect wirelessly, but the only caveat is that it can only be connected in landscape orientation and cannot be made to stand upright.

However, this ensures that Apple's Standby Mode will always be seen while the iPhone is charging, showing its customizable displays for users.

Elago's MagSafe MS W5 Charging Stand

The Game Boy-inspired stand from Elago is designed to be sturdy and non-slip, with a non-slip silicon material underneath. Additionally, one's iPhone would be displayed at a 30-degree angle for easier viewing while on the dock.

It also brings a dedicated cable winder underneath for improved cable management, and when no longer needed, it may be stowed easily without effort.

MagSafe Charging for Apple

Elago is no longer new to bringing back retro and old-school goodies for users to enjoy. It offers functionality and is a great piece for tabletops, desks, and more. Back in 2017, Elago released a MagSafe charging stand for the Apple Watch that replicates the original Macintosh computer, with the wearable fitting perfectly on the stand.

However, third-party MagSafe charging platforms offer multiple functions apart from charging a single device only.

One from Belkin offers a 3-in-1 wireless charger that can adequately replenish the batteries of your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods with a wireless charging case in one station, offering a single device for all charging needs.

A MagSafe charging stand is not required, but it is a hassle to avoid occasionally getting disconnected or having it appear as loose wires on your desktop or bedside stand.

Elago offers the MS W5 with the Game Boy Advance SP in mind, bringing back the retro feels of the iconic handheld console that could charge one's iPhone to its required power inputs.
