Spotify has shared a new update which brings a "Snooze" feature that allows users to skip overplayed songs.

Through this feature, users are set to discover new experiences on the platform without veering too much from their preferred genres and artists. In addition, Spotify has also introduced other buttons and settings that seek to improve the listening experience on the app.

Spotify 'Snooze' Feature Lets You Take a Break

According to a report by Digital Trends, Spotify has released a new post which details the latest update on the app, including the new Snooze feature that lets users take a break from music that they don't want to listen to for the meantime.

Algorithm has been a massive part of Spotify's services since it launched, and while several new songs that match one's listening preferences are added, these may sometimes feel a little too repetitive.

With a tap of the Snooze button, users will be given a chance to skip the overplayed songs for a 30-day period, with the algorithm finding alternatives or similar songs that still fit the preferences of the user.

New Features, Controls Feature in Spotify's Update

Premium users are also treated to an upgrade to the Queue feature as it now includes different controls, including Shuffle and Smart Shuffle, Repeat, Sleep Timers, and song recommendations for when queued tracks end.

Additionally, users no longer have to delete a song from a playlist with the new Hide button that basically removes it from the collection.

Aside from these, users may better customize their listening experience as Spotify has made Add, Sort, and Edit more accessible.

Spotify's Recent Updates

One of the largest audio streaming platforms in the world is continuing with the development of new features, and it is keeping up with the trends and preferences of its listeners. Users were previously given an extended chance to review their listening history as Spotify made it available for up to 90 days on the app.

The wait for the Lossless Audio experiences on Spotify may have been extended, but as the wait continues, the platform recently announced that it is cooking something up under the new "Music Pro" tier, which would cost an additional $6 per month but features improved audio quality and additional perks.

In recent updates, Spotify has delivered more AI-powered features to the platform that brought a new light to Audiobooks as AI voices may now narrate different books. The company has also released multilingual AI DJs that help commandeer radio stations on the platform.
