TikTok has a new experience for all users to enjoy as it introduces a feature called "AI Alive" which can transform still or static images into short videos. This is available to access when creating new content and choosing to post it via Stories.
While TikTok is known for also adding artificial intelligence experiences to the platform, it is not featured in all aspects of the app.
TikTok 'AI Alive' Can Transform Photos to Videos
TikTok has shared in its latest announcement a new feature called "AI Alive," offering users a chance to transform still images into moving videos. The main focus of this feature is for the Stories part of the app only, and while the content from this feature expires after 24 hours, users may still save this to their devices.
According to TikTok, the new generative AI feature is exclusively available to create using Story's camera, which means that users may not use uploaded images to be transformed into AI-generated videos.

Users Might Find TikTok Stories' AI Feature Weird
Engadget reported that in their trial of the new generative AI feature on TikTok's Story, they found that the videos being created turn out to be weird. Despite users having control of what the AI would transform it to via text prompts, the technology would still churn out some odd actions or animations.
That being said, this feature is free and accessible to users, and they may be more specific with their prompts so that the video can turn out as they want it to be.
TikTok and Its AI-Powered Experiences
TikTok has come a long way since it first introduced a feature known as the AI Voice Over that allows users to input text that a computer-generated voice would read aloud on the video. Since then, the company has added its very own "Tako" AI chatbot, which allows users to converse with the chatbot to find more information on certain topics or discuss different trends on the platform.
The company has also explored the ability to have creators make their own music using generative AI, and users only have to input specific prompts to create new sounds or songs to be used for video or photo posts. This tool is available to access by all users on TikTok.
Over the years, TikTok has been a haven for creators to share different trends, challenges, and experiences, with the company not shying away from making AI-generated content available on the platform. The company has also experimented on adding AI-generated search results on the platform in partnership with OpenAI featuring, but it is not yet fully available as of writing.
