The next generation operating system version coming for the Vision Pro is getting a massive upgrade, says latest reports, particularly as Apple is working on an "eye scrolling" feature for the visionOS 3.
This is no longer new for Apple as it already added a similar feature to the iPhones with iOS 18's Eye Tracking feature, which allows the device to track one's eyes and follow their gaze to either point to a certain app or scroll.
It is also worth mentioning that one of the features that made Vision Pro what it is its eye tracking capabilities, and should this feature arrive in the future, the technology would be put to better use.
Apple to Reportedly Bring 'Eye Scrolling' to visionOS 3
Eye tracking has always been part of the Vision Pro since Apple released it last year, but users were not exactly given more use for it. However, that may soon change when the visionOS 3 arrives, particularly as Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that an "eye scrolling" feature is now under testing under the operating system's next version.
This eye scrolling feature will reportedly allow users to browse through their apps on the Vision Pro's home screen without the need to use their hands, and their gaze will be enough to identify and select what users are looking for.
That being said, the eye scrolling feature only centers on letting users use their eyes to be recognized by the device for navigating through the apps or other experiences on the headset, and no further information was shared.

No More Hand Gestures Needed for Vision Pro?
As revealed by Gurman, the eye scrolling feature for the Vision Pro will only center on navigating through the many apps available to select from on its specific page. However, users will still need to use their hands for the headset to follow when selecting an app to launch it.
While this feature will not make the Vision Pro entirely hands-free, it will still eliminate the need to use one's hands or fingers to scroll through apps or choices, and then select them using their limbs.
