Samsung has officially announced its One UI 8 beta program, bringing new AI-powered features and design upgrades to the latest Galaxy foldables and flagship S25 phones.
Initially available in South Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US, the One UI 8 beta introduces Samsung's next-gen AI platform with context-aware tools like Now Bar and Now Brief. It also enhances multitasking on foldables, refines app sharing, and strengthens on-device privacy via Knox Vault. As part of Samsung's push toward intelligent, adaptive UX across devices, this beta marks the first hands-on look at the future of its Android 16-based interface.
"One UI is Samsung's integrated software platform, designed to help Galaxy devices simplify everyday routines and enhance productivity and convenience," wrote the company in a statement. "Thanks to the mutual partnership between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will debut on Samsung's newest foldables this summer and will gradually expand to more Galaxy devices so users can now enjoy an enriched, more personalized mobile experience with the latest version of Android."
First introduced in the Galaxy S25 series, the new AI features include multimodal capabilities, a user experience (UX) tailored to different device form factors, and more personalized and proactive suggestions, said the company.
The company also promised the privacy and security of Samsung Knox Vault with these new tools, using a dedicated secure processor to isolate your sensitive data to make sure no one can access it, either physically or remotely.
The new One UI 8 has more than just new AI features, of course, with tools like Auracast, which Samsung says will support audio connection via QR code and sharing. This should let multiple devices with Auracast tech listen to the same Bluetooth stream, for example.
Samsung also touts a revamped Reminders app with new travel-centric features, including new organization tools and one-click sharing.
Finally, Samsung revealed a new Quick Share feature that will let you "instantly send and recieve files," which sounds a bit like Apple's AirDrop.
You can sign up for the One UI 8 beta now in the Samsung Members app.
