Anudeep Katangoori's story begins with a love for computers that started at home, surrounded by engineers and tech-savvy family members. That early spark led him to pursue computer science, and eventually, a career that's taken him across industries and continents. He began as a data engineer, worked his way up to Senior Data Engineer/Architect at major retail companies and Swift Transportation, and is now the founder of Skillo Inc., an AI/Big Data-focused company with projects in India and Australia. He's also currently pursuing his MBA at the Fuqua School of Business – Duke University to deepen his leadership and business skills.

Anudeep's background is rooted in building smart, scalable data systems. His early work involved managing big data pipelines and learning how to turn large amounts of raw information into useful insights. Over time, he developed advanced skills in machine learning, predictive analytics, and event-driven architecture, a modern approach that helps apps communicate through real-time updates, like notifications when someone adds an item to a shopping cart.

"I didn't find programming or machine learning easy at first," he says, "but the challenge pushed me to grow. I always wanted to build something meaningful with the data available."

Today, Anudeep is recognized as a predictive analytics leader and AI governance expert with a reputation for solving real business problems through technology.

At major retail companies, Anudeep was more than a behind-the-scenes technician; he was helping shape how these organizations handled risk and made decisions.

For example, while with a Retail client, Anudeep rolled out a real-time scorecard system for store managers. "Before, managers had to wait on reports. Now they can see performance instantly," he explains. That system cut delays by over 30% and made day-to-day decisions faster and easier.

At Swift Transportation, he worked on logistics systems that predicted delivery issues before they happened, improving operations for one of the largest trucking companies in the U.S. Across each role, Anudeep stayed focused on building tools that were not only powerful but also safe and responsible to use.

As AI became more central to business operations, Anudeep saw a growing need to manage it responsibly. His firsthand experience with data mishandling risks led him to become a strong voice for clear, ethical data practices.

He helped develop simple but effective rules for how data is accessed, stored, and monitored. At a retail giant Anudeep worked for, for example, his team introduced access controls that drastically reduced duplicate records and improved data quality across the board.

Anudeep also led internal training programs, helping teams understand why governance matters, not just to avoid fines or mistakes, but to build systems that people can trust.

Today, Anudeep runs Skillo Inc., a company focused on building ethical AI systems for clients in India and Australia. Also, he acts as a Board Member for Skillo USA. Skillo develops custom AI solutions that help businesses streamline operations without cutting corners on privacy or compliance.

Looking ahead, Anudeep believes the rules around AI will only get stricter, and that's a good thing. "Companies that prepare now will be the ones who thrive later," he says.

"I want to be known as someone who not only built powerful data systems, but did it the right way, with transparency, ethics, and a long-term view of innovation," Anudeep says.
