Hideo Kojima Confirms New Event for Future Games

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions, the studio announced that there will be an upcoming special event that will showcase the future games of the company.

The studio has dubbed this the "Beyond the Strand" event, with Kojima himself set to appear and discuss everything they have planned for the future.

The event will be held at the TOHO Cinemas in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, September 23, and will be an in-person event for those who want to witness the showcase. However, for those who cannot go to Tokyo for the event, there will be a livestream showcase. The production company will reveal the details at a later date.

The event's ticket sales will open this Tuesday, September 2, starting at 10:00 a.m. JST, with admission priced at 7,700 Japanese yen (tax included) for those who want to attend it in person.

"Beyond the Strand" is a play on Kojima's renowned action RPG space series, "Death Stranding," which released its second game earlier in June on the PlayStation platform.

Kojima will host and lead the event in Tokyo, featuring several special guest appearances and the discussion of his and his studio's upcoming projects in the industry.

New Kojima Productions Project In Detail

The upcoming "Beyond the Strand" event is set for a running time of 3 hours and 30 minutes, according to the website. The announcement of the event is also a timely one, and according to ComicBook Gaming, it was shared exactly 10 years after the release of Kojima's last project with Konami, "Metal Gear V: Phantom Pain."

Kojima and his team are now looking towards the future for the production company and what more they have to offer to the industry.

"Beyond the Strand" may also discuss about completing the trilogy of the "Death Stranding" series after the events of "On the Beach," which had a setup for a potential sequel.

While Kojima would possibly no longer make another "Metal Gear" game with Konami, he still has an ongoing project called "Physint," which is widely considered a spiritual successor of the Konami-owned game. The game is confirmed for the PlayStation 6.

Additionally, there is also the new horror project called "OD."
