Major Nelson announced through a post on Xbox Wire, the official blog of the Xbox gaming console, that the first system update for the year for the Xbox One is now being rolled out.

The February 2015 system update looks to make improvements on the gaming console's controller, enhancements to the party chat function, additions to the TV options and expanding the "trick play" and live stream features to other countries.

Major Nelson said that the developers of Xbox One are continuing to listen to the feedback provided by the Xbox Live community for improvements to the gaming experience, and this feedback is what has driven the changes that will be implemented with the update.

For the Xbox One controller, the update will improve speed and stability. Controllers will now be able to connect to the console in only around two seconds, whereas it took around four seconds to five seconds before. Controller disconnection issues have also been addressed.

To update the controller, users will need to connect the device to the Xbox One using a USB cable. The Update option for the controller can then be found in the Settings menu of Xbox Live, under the devices and accessories option. Once updated, the firmware of the controller should be version 1.2.2236.0.

The update also introduces game hubs.

"These are the go-to centers for interesting content, tips and tricks for your favorite titles. Every Xbox One game will have a game hub where you can see which friends are playing the game, compete with your friends in game leaderboards, dive into the coolest game clips and game broadcasts, and follow the game's top broadcasters and clip creators," the official post read.

The game hub is accessible through the Menu button on each title. Following a title from the game hub will push the activity feed of the game into the user's overall activity feed.

The party chat function also underwent several changes, including icons to show the connections status of the other users in the party. Improvements in connectivity and performance have also been implemented.

The live TV feature of the Xbox One also received updates, one of which being that users can now see the shows that are trending when scanning through the TV listings on OneGuide. Xbox TV trending is available to users in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, while Twitter trending is only available in the United States. Live TV trending, however, can now be seen in Brazil, France, Germany and Mexico.

The Xbox One also received improvements in working with TVs, audio-video receivers and set-top boxes. In addition, owners of the Xbox One Digital TV Tuner in supported countries can now access the "trick play" feature of seeing the video frames when rewinding or fast-forwarding paused TV. Live TV streaming for Android and Windows Phone devices has been expanded to France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Italy, and OneGuide has been added for Xbox Live users in the Netherlands.
