'Mario Kart World' DLC Is Reportedly Coming From Nintendo; Announcement Coming Soon

The next major games showcase this year may bring 'Mario Kart World's' DLC.

Nintendo gave its fans "Mario Kart World" as the first official first-party game for the Nintendo Switch 2, and after half a year since its release, fans are now speculating that a DLC may be on the way.

'Mario Kart World' DLC Is Reportedly Coming From Nintendo

According to ComicBook Gaming's report, fans are now doubling down on their speculations about an upcoming "Mario Kart World" DLC that may soon be revealed by Nintendo.

Many fans reportedly believe that Nintendo is preparing for an upcoming announcement to announce the DLC coming to the action racing game before the year ends.

The belief stems from Nintendo not releasing any new content like maps, characters, and more for "Mario Kart World" or anything relating to the game, and fans are theorizing that this is because the Japanese entertainment giant is planning something big.

However, while all these sounds like a fan theory from the online world, there are several findings, including a report from Nintendo Today, which support the theory.

According to Nintendo Today, there is a list of new elements expected to arrive at "Mario Kart World" soon, and this includes the arrival of new characters and elements in the game.

The specific new characters and elements coming to "Mario Kart World" are reportedly from the "Donkey Kong" franchise, which will also get a first-party game for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo to Announce 'Mario Kart World' DLC Real Soon

The dataminers who found hidden content on "Mario Kart World" claim that "Donkey Kong's" King K. Rool, the iconic villain of the series and final boss of "Donkey Kong Bananza," is reportedly set to appear on the racing game.

King K. Rool previously crossed over to other "Mario" games, specifically "Super Smash Bros.," but this would be the first time the character is coming to "Mario Kart."

Fans also speculated that the announcement of "Mario Kart World's" first DLC will be announced at The Game Awards 2025, set for this Thursday, December 11.

Based on speculations, the report said that fans believe Nintendo would use their invitation to showcase the theorized DLC during the awards and event show, alongside the other announcements coming here.

There are no official confirmations yet from Nintendo about this theorized expansion content for "Mario Kart World."
