Microsoft previously pledged to share "Call of Duty" on other platforms, and now, a report claims that its arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming real soon.
'Call of Duty' Is Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 Soon
Fans called for the action shooter to expand to the Switch, and now, Microsoft has answered, according to a new claim by Jez Corden, which states that the first "Call of Duty" title for the console is nearing its completion.
Based on the latest claims by Corden, this "Call of Duty" game for the Switch 2 is still under development from an unknown developer, but it is "nearly done." Corden did not mention the specific "Call of Duty" game that is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Despite the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft being completed, the company already made it known that they are maintaining "Call of Duty" where it is available, and then expanding it to more platforms, including the Switch.
It was also added by Corden that the game's release is also nearing, and it could be released in a "few months," but no specific release schedules or windows were mentioned.
It is safe to say that the Switch 2's first-ever "Call of Duty" game will be available in 2026, and according to ComicBook Gaming, we may not have to wait long for this to be released publicly.
Here's What to Expect on Switch 2's 'Call of Duty'
While there are still no mentioned titles pertaining to which "Call of Duty" game is coming to the Switch 2, many hope for it to be the latest release of the franchise, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 7."
That said, this may be too much for the gaming console to handle, especially as it is also known for having large storage size requirements, RAM requirements, and graphics preferences.
It is important to note that some AAA-rated games were made available to the Switch 2, like CD Projekt Red's "Cyberpunk 2077," but it is a game that is already five years old when it launched on the platform.
Speculations claim that it is possible that Microsoft's Activision could start with an old game from the "COD" franchise that may be remastered or ported to the Switch 2. It is important to note that when "Call of Duty" games were still releasing on DS and Wii consoles, it skipped "Modern Warfare II."
This specific game got a modern revival several years ago and is one of the top-rated "Call of Duty" titles in history.
