TikTok is taking a bold step into radio. On March 12, the platform announced a partnership with iHeartMedia to launch TikTok Radio, a station that blends the most popular songs with viral trends and creator content from TikTok.
The station went live on March 13 from the iHeartPodcast Hotel at SXSW and is available on the free iHeartRadio app as well as 28 radio stations nationwide, including in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, and Miami.
According to People, TikTok Radio offers a variety of segments aimed at music and pop culture fans.
"Behind the Charts" counts down the 10 biggest songs of the week on TikTok and explores the stories behind them.
"Hacks on the :20s" highlights trending life hacks every hour. Other features include lighthearted lifestyle commentary, weekly music releases in "New Music Fridays", and "On the Verge", which introduces artists about to break into the charts.
According to Dan Page, TikTok's global head of media and licensing partnerships, the station also gives creators a chance to expand their reach beyond the app.
The partnership is designed to help them connect with fans through radio, podcasts, and live events while turning their passions into lasting careers.

iHeartMedia and TikTok Merge Platforms for Live
Along with the station, TikTok and iHeartMedia introduced several creator-led shows on the TikTok Podcast Network.
These include Suite 305 with Lele Pons, offering a casual, slumber-party-style look at pop culture, Caroline's Closet with Caroline Vazzana, which goes behind the scenes of the fashion world, and Sports Slice with Tim Martin, focusing on bold and candid sports commentary.
Other programs include The Clifford Show, hosted by viral creator Clifford Taylor IV, which explores sports and media careers, and The Set List with Carter Gregory, Yahoo reported.
Tom Poleman, iHeartMedia's chief programming officer, said the partnership merges the strengths of both platforms.
The goal is to create a station that feels like a "living, breathing For You feed," where creators, music fans, and radio talent interact in real time.
