With the 40th anniversary special of Saturday Night Live airing this Sunday, Feb. 15, this weekend was already going to be huge for the classic sketch comedy show. Now we just got even more exciting SNL news.

The Tribeca Film Festival announced today that the world premiere of the documentary Live From New York! will open the 2015 film festival, which kicks off Wednesday, April 15. The doc will give an in-depth look at the early years of the show, which premiered on Oct. 11, 1975.

The documentary will include archival footage from the show's history, along with interviews "from SNL legends, journalists, hosts, crew and others influenced by the comedy giant," according to a press release. Live From New York! is directed by Bao Nguyen and is produced by JL Pomeroy and Tom Broecker.

"'SNL's' contribution to the arts and to pop culture has been — and continues to be — groundbreaking, and Live From New York! offers an inside look at the show's inimitable ability to both reflect and impact American news, history and culture," said Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal in a statement. "This is the story of a creative journey from pilot to institution and a tribute to the moments that kept us laughing and talking long after the episodes aired."

The rest of the Tribeca Film Festival's line-up will be announced in March.

SNL has basically taken over 2015. In addition to this weekend's live 40th anniversary special on NBC, there's also an exhibition opening in the spring modeled after a week in the life of SNL, featuring original scripts, costumes and props. And we can't forget about The TODAY Show anchors kicking off the fun with their awesomely bad SNL-themed Halloween costumes. Never forget.
