Jared Leto, the man who is set to play The Joker in Suicide Squad, claims that he is required to eat a lot these days to gain enough weight to play the character. The actor says he's having trouble doing this, but that's not going to stop him.

Looking at Leto, it is clear that he's too skinny, and while that might work for some fans, his current weight does not come off as intimidating. We believe Warner Bros. wants Leto to have similar weight to Heath Ledger, a man who wasn't skinny but wasn't muscular either.

Jared Leto was talking with Billboard when he was asked about The Joker character he's set to play in Suicide Squad. The actor was asked how he plans to prepare himself for this massive undertaking and walking in the shoe of the late Ledger.

"I'm trying to gain a lot of weight. It means I have to eat every couple of hours -- and I'm terrible at eating a lot," says Leto.

"The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character -- that's what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right?" Leto says. "[He's] this beautiful disaster of a character -- what a big challenge."

We're glad that he's getting bigger, but we can only hope he doesn't get too big because that wouldn't be much of a Joker.

Unfortunately, Leto did not give away any juicy details regarding the film and what fans should expect from his character. There are several rumors running around about The Joker in Suicide Squad, some claiming the character throughout the majority of the film is locked up, while others claim he planted bombs in several sections of the city.

We wouldn't recommend anyone to take these rumors seriously and just wait until Warner Bros. released a summary of the plot to the public. Chances are this won't happen until 2016 since the film is coming out on Aug. 5 of the same year.

Suicide Squad will feature the likes of Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
