In today's DLC-driven age, Mortal Kombat X has a surprisingly tame downloadable plan. NetherRealm isn't teasing new characters, modes or stages as post-release content; instead, the developer is focusing on getting the game out the door before it tries to sell players extra stuff. That doesn't mean Mortal Kombat X won't have DLC in the future, it's just that NetherRealm is handling things a bit better than other studios.

That being said, there is one piece of DLC that fans know about: NetherRealm has stated that a costume pack is scheduled for release sometime after the game has launched in April. So far, fans haven't had anything to go on...until now, that is.

Thanks to MP1ST, fans have an idea of what could be in store post-launch:

It's a pretty convincing picture: it's high-resolution, nothing looks out of place and references other, pre-existing features (namely Goro as a playable character). If it is a fake - and it definitely could be - it's a very convincing one.

On top of all that, Feudal Japan definitely makes sense for Mortal Kombat X. There's a lot of fictional Asian history throughout the series, and considering how many of the characters are straight out of Japan or an actual ninja, a Feudal Japan DLC pack isn't that much of a stretch.

However, it's important to note that Mortal Kombat X will likely see further DLC on top of the costume pack pictured above. Both Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice: Gods Among Us saw four extra characters introduced through a season pass, and it's easy to imagine that Mortal Kombat X will receive a similar treatment. Who will be included is, obviously, still unknown.

For now, the only thing fans can do is wait and speculate: players won't know the full scope and scale of Mortal Kombat X's DLC until the game launches this April.
