It's no secret that Nintendo's Amiibo figures are a huge success - but, if there's any one thing holding the collectibles back, it's the fact that Nintendo isn't producing a whole lot of third-party figures just yet.

Sure, Super Smash Bros. characters like Mega Man have been transformed into Amiibo, but what about other characters? Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid was in Super Smash Bros. Brawl - is there any chance he could see an Amiibo release? Shadow the Hedgehog appears as an Assist Trophy, why not him?

Well, gamers have taken it upon themselves to create the Amiibo that Nintendo never will: while some fans might expect someone like Snake to make an appearance in Smash Bros., few would expect Dragon Ball Z's Goku to show up:

If it weren't for the fact that Goku would never been in a Smash Bros. game, it'd be easy to think that the custom Amiibo figure is real. While the figure is premade, nearly everything else about the Amiibo - including the packaging, the graphics and the base the figure is standing on - is custom-made. If Nintendo were to ever make something like a Goku Amiibo, this is what it would look like.

The Goku Amiibo isn't the only one of its kind, either: hundreds of custom Amiibo figures have popped up all over the Internet, with entire sites devoted to showing off the customized Nintendo figures:

Even the standard Amiibo figures are hard to come by these days...what would happen if Nintendo decided to make rare, limited-quantity Amiibo variants?
