It's no secret that George R.R. Martin takes great joy in killing off beloved characters in his A Song of Ice and Fire books. Even those who haven't read the books, but watch the HBO series based on those novels understands that no one is ever truly safe.

Based on that idea, the folks over at Nerdist produced this hilarious video that mashes up Martin with Taylor Swift and gives us "Blank Page," as Martin shows us that even one of our most beloved characters in the book and TV series, Daenerys Targaryen, isn't even safe from his bloody pen.

Freddy Scott wrote this funny (albeit violent) song, with the video directed by Andrew Bowser and Ben Mekler. Nick Mundy hilariously plays Martin with Emily Rudd as Daenerys and Brandon Hillock as Jon Snow.

Of course, fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire are anxiously awaiting the next volume in the saga, The Winds of Winter, which, unfortunately, won't see a 2015 release. Martin is as notorious for taking a long time between releasing novels as he is in killing characters off, which is apparently hard work. Add that with the distractions of also working with HBO on the TV series, along with press appearances, and that means that Martin has no time to work on the new novel.

Fans estimate the new book will see a 2016 or 2017 release. Meanwhile, though, we have the HBO Game of Thrones series to keep us entertained. And although the series will likely catch up to the books, HBO and Martin have discussed Martin's general plot for the next few books.

Season five of HBO's Game of Thrones returns to TV on April 12. Just in time, HBO also recently announced that its standalone streaming HBO Now goes live next month, too. That service will cost $15 per month and allows users to watch HBO programming without a current cable or satellite subscription.

We've seen a lot of parodies covering Taylor Swift's "Blank Space," including one about coffee, one announcing a pregnancy, and even one that tackles holiday overeating.
