The YotaPhone 2, which is available in the U.K. and other parts of the world, will soon be coming to the U.S. through an IndieGoGo campaign.

The device includes both a 1080p full color display as well as an e-ink display on the back of the device, designed to offer basic information without using the same power as the full display.

"The future of smartphones is always-on displays allowing users to stay connected without turning off the real world and disrupting the people around you," said YotaPhone in a statement. "The next generation YotaPhone takes this totally innovative concept in smartphones and makes it even better. Now, with two full-touch displays, the next generation YotaPhone is twice as smart, twice as useful and twice as beautiful."

The YotaPhone 2 offers a number of upgrades over the original YotaPhone, bringing improvements to almost all specifications of the device. The device was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2014, and now, a year later, it still has not reached the U.S. That, however, is about to change, with YotaPhone, the Russian company behind the device, announcing that it would be launching this summer through the Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign.

The YotaPhone 2 features a Snapdragon 801 processor with a 5-inch Full HD 1920x1080 display, boasting a pixel density of 442ppi. Not only that, but it also features an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera. It also has wireless charging capabilities, which is nice for those who are into wireless charging.

The real kicker for the device, however, is of course the e-ink display. The e-ink display can show messages, books and files without using much power at all, something that could save a lot of energy for people who use their phone extensively for messaging. In addition, e-ink displays are also better for the user's eyesight.

The device is expected to be sold for $600 when its IndieGoGo campaign is launched, and it is currently only available in black. The company plans to sell a white version later on, however it won't be available until late summer.

The IndieGoGo campaign will launch sometime this spring, and incentives will be offered to early backers. It is unknown what kind of incentives will be offered, though it is likely that they will include things like a discount or a case for the device. After the IndieGoGo campaign, the device will be offered by vendors like Best Buy.
