Verizon Wireless is finally getting the Nexus 6 smartphone. Come March 12, the U.S. network operator will add the 4G LTE-enabled Android-powered smartphone to its repertoire of devices.

The Verizon variant of the Motorola-made Nexus 6 will be the first device to boast Android 5.1 Lollipop, giving it the capability to support calls by deploying Voice over LTE (VoLTE) or Advanced Calling 1.0.

Consumers who have been eagerly waiting for the Verizon variant of the Nexus 6 can lay their hands on the smartphone post March 12 online, whereas the brick and mortar stores will begin retailing the device a week later.

"Thank you for your patience. The Nexus 6 by Motorola will be available for ordering on the nation's largest and most reliable 4G LTE network starting March 12 online and will be in stores starting March 19," revealed Verizon.

The Verizon variant of the Nexus 6 will cost subscribers $249.99 on a two-year contract. Those opting for Verizon Edge can get the smartphone for $27.08 each month for two years.

Additionally, Verizon has a promo offer for consumers who buy the Nexus 6 prior to March 31 this year. Customers will get a subscription of 6 months to Google Play Music Access without any additional charges being levied. Normally, the subscription charges for the same are $9.99 per month.

For the unfamiliar, the Nexus 6 touts a 6-inch AMOLED Quad HD screen. The phablet houses a quad-core processor, which is clocked at 2.7GHz. The device will also come with the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop which will enable users to make calls via VoLTE via the carrier's 4G LTE network. However, VoLTE calls can be made only to people on the same carrier with compatible devices.

The dual front-facing speakers of the Nexus 6 also offer an immersive experience. The phablet also has a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera to satiate all your selfie needs. The Nexus 6 also packs in a powerful 3,200mAh battery, which is capable of supporting nearly 24 hours of usage on a single charge. This means you can indulge in games on the phablet's 6-inch Quad HD screen, stream videos and music without worrying about your battery running out too soon.

The Nexus 6 is now available for order from Verizon Wireless' online store. The smartphone will begin shipping from March 18.
