PlayStation owners may be enjoying the challenge of the notoriously difficult-yet-fair Bloodborne, but back in the day games were designed with another idea in mind - how to best rob you of all your quarters.

One of the best examples of this is the Metal Slug series.

The series of lightning-fast 2D shooters is as challenging as they come and delivers truly non-stop action. Run left to right mowing down everything in your path! Rescue POWs! Get power-ups! Drive crazy vehicles! Don't die!

If you've never played a Metal Slug game before, there has never been a better opportunity to do so than now. Metal Slug 3, arguably the best of the series, is now on Sony's PlayStation Network and available for purchase on the PS Vita, PS3 or PS4.

This is by no means the first time the game has been ported to consoles, but that doesn't make it any less exciting. With modern day features online co-op, trophies, leaderboards and more and you have an even better version of an arcade classic. Did I mention this game has a ridable camel with mounted laser turrets? Yeah, you need to play this.

One thing that is not modern, however, is the Metal Slug website. Let's just take a moment to appreciate it. Okay, done? The site last saw an update in 2007, but don't let that deter you from checking out this action-packed shooter.
