Suicide Squad has been shaping up as a blockbuster movie, with director David Ayer being able to put together a star-studded lineup of actors to take on the roles of the various villains the movie.

With the production of Suicide Squad close to being started, Ayer posted a picture on his official Twitter account, providing a first look at the entire cast of the much-anticipated movie. Well, at least most of the cast.

Included in the picture are Ayer himself, Joel Kinnaman who will play Rick Flag, Will Smith who will play Deadshot, Adawale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who will play Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara who is rumored to play Plastique, Jay Hernandez who is rumored to play El Diablo, Margot Robbie who will play Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney who will play Boomerang, Cara Delevingne who will play Enchantress, Viola Davis who will play Amanda Waller, and newly announced cast members Adam Beach, Jim Parrack and Ike Barinholtz.

The cast members of Suicide Squad met for a readthrough of the movie script, a standard step in a film's pre-production stages.

However, the glaring omission in the picture is Jared Leto, who will play the Joker. It may be due to the fact that it was Leto who was taking a picture of the cast - perhaps also to hide his ongoing transformation into the iconic villain.

Also not present in the picture are a pair of actors who are expected to play smaller roles in the movie, namely Raymond Olubowale who is rumored to play King Shark and Scott Eastwood, whose role in the film is still unknown.

It should also be noted that Jesse Eisenberg, who will be taking on the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, is not in the picture. Rumors suggest that he will also be playing the character in the movie. Eisenberg's absence in the picture could mean that he is only making a cameo in the movie, or will have a limited role.

Suicide Squad is based on the DC Comics that bears the same name, where a group of villains are forced to carry out black ops missions for the government. Warner Bros., however, has not yet released an official synopsis for the film's plot, which means that it is still not determined how close the movie will be to the comic books.
