Tell a child you are taking them to Chuck E. Cheese and watch them light up with excitement.

They can get lost in the ball pit and rat race from one arcade game to the next. Tell an adult they are going to the house of the mouse and they might miserably be stuck nursing a headache over some unappetizing pizza.

When you take a child to Chuck E. Cheese, you are probably going more so they can have fun than for the food. But in an attempt to make the family entertainment more appealing for parents, Chuck E. Cheese is rolling out a new grown-up menu that includes items like wings, ciabatta sandwiches and signature pizzas.

"Kids are at the heart of everything we do at Chuck E. Cheese's, but kids don't come alone, and we want to make sure parents have just as enjoyable an experience as the kids do, especially when it comes to the food," says CEC Entertainment CEO Tom Leverton. "We've added new items that cater to the more sophisticated tastes of the parents who take time from busy family schedules to bring their kids into Chuck E. Cheese's. New sandwiches, wraps, and wings are available in addition to great new pizza offerings."

While the kids run around a play, parents and other adults can relax over better quality food fresh "never frozen" food like the Cali Alfredo speciality pizza that is made with Alfredo sauce, fresh spinach, mozzarella cheese, chicken breast, mushrooms and sausage; or the BBQ chicken pizza that includes crispy onions and a brand new BBQ drizzle. Any pizza on the menu will be able to come in a "thin and crispy" option.

Alongside the specialty pizzas on the new grown-up menu includes BBQ and sweet chili bone-in and boneless chicken wings, a Caesar and club whole-wheat wrap, a BBQ chicken ciabatta sandwich, soft parmesan breadsticks and churros with salted caramel and white chocolate icing for dessert.

With the sound of this menu, we might just have a new reason to hang with that mouse after all. The new menu items launched this month in all 545 Chuck E. Cheese locations.
