Vin Diesel couldn't help but belt out some tunes in loving memory of his Fast and Furious co-star and close friend Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in 2013 during shooting for the seventh installment in the franchise.

Diesel, who was speaking in an interview for an Italian media outlet, said he loved to sing but didn't have the talent. His lack of musical prowess notwithstanding, Diesel whipped out his phone and played "See You Again," the tribute song to Walker recorded by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth, and began to sing along.

"It's been a long day without you, my friend. And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. We've come a long way from where we began. Oh, I'll tell you..." Diesel sang before smiling and stopping.

The 47-year-old actor said it was difficult for him and the rest of the cast to go back to work and continue shooting.

"It was the hardest thing I had to do. I felt like it was almost unfair asking us to go back to work," he said. "When I act, I pull from the inside, but when my inside is hurting or in pain, how do you do that?"

It was Walker's memory that drove the Fast and Furious team to pull through and finish the seventh film.

"If it wasn't for the great team – that I call family – if it wasn't for the obligation in honoring Paul, that is what drove us to the finish line," he added.

The "Fast and Furious" cast have often pay tribute to Walker. Last month, the stars of Furious 7 discussed the emotional impact of Walker's death in a featurette. Actress Michelle Rodriguez, who has appeared in the latest five films, considers the seventh film "special."

"It's a legacy," she said. "You get to say goodbye to somebody very, very special. I think all the fans are going to feel good that there's a respect there."

Diesel also pointed out that the seventh installment was filled with themes of family and brotherhood, which in part commemorated their lost brother.

Furious 7 raked in a total of $143.6 million on its opening weekend, making it the ninth biggest opening weekend of all time and the top-grossing film without a superhero.
