After the success of Furious 7, Universal Studios made it clear that a Furious 8 film would be in the pipeline. We now understand that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will make an appearance in the next film, but it is not certain in what capacity.

A Furious 8 movie in the next year or two shouldn't be a surprise since Furious 7 managed to become the fastest film to earn $1 billion at the box office. To be more precise, Furious 7 did this in the first 17 days, and we are almost sure that if it weren't for Avengers: Age of Ultron coming out on May 1, 2015, Furious 7 could have a chance of hitting the $2 billion mark.

In an interview with MTV, Johnson stated that Furious 8 could be set in New York, but since he's not 100 percent sure, we might have to wait for official confirmation from Universal Studios.

Apart from Furious 8, Johnson is a man with a filled plate, and why not? After all, he is known as "franchise Viagra" due to the spark he brings to any film he appears in.

We understand that Johnson signed up to voice a demi-god in Disney's 2016 movie, Moana. He's the main face in the May 29 movie, San Andreas, which is a film about a helicopter pilot who is flying in and around California to save his daughter. Apparently, a significant earthquake hit the United States, and his daughter is trapped.

The most notable film that will feature Johnson in the coming years is Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, Shazam. Johnson will play the villain, Teth-Adam, who is mainly known as Black Adam. He's a former slave who was given immense powers but used those powers the wrong way, and thus, he was cast aside by the Wizard like a leper.

If all goes competently, Johnson could have a bright future in the DC Cinematic Multiverse because he spoke of the possibility of his character joining the Justice League and him fighting Superman.
