Henry Cavill has finally confirmed that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is not a sequel to Man of Steel, something we have been saying for quite some time now.

Many fans were adamant that this movie is a Superman sequel despite the fact that the title starts with "Batman." We can only hope that Cavill's wise words will put an end to the debate once and for all.

Cavill made the revelation why attending Warner Bros. CinemaCon in Las Vegas. He was speaking to MTV about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and his other film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The MTV reporter asked Cavill if he had seen anything relating to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he also stated that the film is a Superman sequel. The expression on his face changed after Cavill shot down the Superman sequel claim.

"I've only seen a little bit of ADR stuff, but that's it, and that wasn't even in color. I'm hoping to see it [the whole movie] some time this year, for a friends and family screening or something. But I really know nothing about what the finished product looks like. I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman versus Superman, so it's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It's an introduction to the [Batman] character, and ultimately an introduction to 'Justice League.'"

We're glad Superman himself came forward to put an end to this, because the debates were getting a little too silly. It is quite obvious why this movie is not a Superman sequel, yet many fans were willing to move mountains to claim it as so.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016, while The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is destined for a release date on August 14, 2015. Cavill is also expected to reprise his role as the Man of Steel in Justice League — Part One and Justice League — Part 2.
