BMW has publicized the details of the latest enhancement to the popular 3-Series collection.

The compact executive stalwart's modifications include modest but operational updates such as visual makeover, some extra technology and an efficient range of engines, including four-cylinder diesel and gasoline components, a first in the premium junior executive sector.

The engine range is comprised of petrol engines with productivity from 180 to 320 hp and a diesel engine with 180 hp. The new flexible BMW EfficientDynamics inline 6-cylinder engine in the 340i is fortified with the cutting-edge BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, which fuses extraordinary performance with outstanding fuel efficiency.

Changes in the front and rear overhangs contribute to the revised 3-Series appeal in what BMW describes as a sportier appearance. There are wider air intakes and revised headlights with striking LED daytime running lights and the alternative of full LED illumination with an automatic high-beam system. The all-LED rear lights boast the latest BMW "L-shaped" lighting signature with LED brakes lights for quicker reaction.

As you step inside, BMW states there is improvement on the ergonomics, added extra chrome accents for the air vents and upgraded material quality. Accent particulars depend on trim level.

Under the skin, there are strengthened suspensions, fettled steering and refined dampers. Both four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive XDrive models will be offered, depending on engine choice.

BMW has upgraded its ConnectedDrive infotainment system with 4G data connectivity. This enables for over-the-air navigation maps with automatic updates free of charge for the first three years, part of a navigation facelift that is now quicker to load and includes more details.

The new BMW's Enhance Automatic Collision Notification will contact the BMW Assist Response Center in case of the airbags being deployed in a vehicular accident. An optional full-color high-resolution head-up display offers added safety by assisting the driver to focus on driving. The Parking Assistant in the new BMW 3-Series now aids the driver to park in spaces that are perpendicular to the road plus parallel spots. The Parking Assistant also includes the new Auto PDC function, which allows the Park Distance Control to turn on automatically when approaching an object at the front and show the remaining distance.

The improved BMW 3-Series goes on sale in the UK this July. Pricing information is unofficial at this point, but full details will be announced by BMW very soon, but for reference, the current price range begins at $37,000.
